Meet the Curiosity Daily Hosts
Cody Gough is the executive producer and host of Curiosity Daily. After spending more than a decade in on-air and production roles at Chicago’s 720 WGN Radio, Cody now leverages insights from the radio industry to develop exceptional podcasting strategies and programming. Cody has worked on podcasting initiatives with top brands including Discovery, Harvard Business Publishing, and Wisecrack, and he maintains an active role in the industry as a member of and contributor to The Podcast Academy. He’s also an accomplished commercial actor, former cooking show host, and amateur woodworker. Cody is passionate about human psychology, history, and helping people understand why the humanities are so important. When not sheltered-in-place during a pandemic, he spends most of his free time immersing himself in role-playing games and live theatre.
Ashley Hamer is the managing editor and host of the award-winning Curiosity Daily podcast and the creator of Taboo Science, named one of the Best Podcasts of 2020 by Discover Pods. As a writer, she’s been quoted in Cosmopolitan, TIME, Buzzfeed, Mashable, and USA Today. She has also written videos for the science YouTube channel SciShow. As a science communicator, Ashley has a passion for getting others excited about everything from physics and astronomy to psychology and exercise science to all the weird things plants can do. She has also served as a board member of Women Thinking Inc., a nonprofit devoted to promoting science to women and families. Ashley hails from the redwoods of Northern California and is also a professional saxophonist, a Boston-qualified marathon runner, and a cat person.
